Les Miserables - London's Longest Running Musical

Les Miserables tickets The classical Les Miserables has been showing for many years in the West End. Written by Victor Hugo in 1866, it was made into a musical by the composer Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublin, opening in Paris in 1980.

This musical has kept up with the incredible name the book created. It is London's longest running musical, with over 8500 performances ranging through 21 years on a London stage. With over 54 million people having viewed it and having played in 249 cities across the world, it is no wonder this performance has received reviews such as “Rippingly gripping and full of wonder”, and “one of the best musicals of all time”.
The play tells the tale of Jean Valjean, who has been on a chaingang for 19 years and is finally released on parole, only to realise he has been rejected by the community. The Bishop Of Digne treats him very kindly, but Valjean is embittered by years of hardship and steels some silver. Although caught by the police, he is astonished to find that the Bishop lies to protect him, and vows to create a new life for himself.
On stage at the Queens Theatre in London's West End, this is a must see production telling the oldest story on the London stage.
