Chicago is a story which covers greed, murder, corruption exploitation, violence, adultery as well as tracery. Based on the play Chicago by Maurine Dallas Watkins, it is set in the prohibition era in Chicago. It works with the theory of a “celebrity criminal” and creates an exciting and passionate show depicting a stereotypical show girl in from this era.
Showing at the Earlham Street Theatre, this is an excellent production which has been on stage for over 9 years!
It origanially opened in 1975 and ran for 936 performances but was released in 1996 and is still running and after 4234 performances is going strong!

Telling the story of Velma and Roxie, two ladies with very different lives but very similar in their own way we follow them as they struggle to succeed and hide their secrets from the past. The story shows how beauty women and music can be a deadly combination!
The fantastic music, gorgeous costumes and excellent settings, not to mention the passionate skills of the cast, its is hard to see how this production could ever be a failure!
It is an exciting musical with lots of action and excitement.

This is an excellent musical which is a must see, it is exciting and full of energy.
